  • We start by assessing the client’s appetite for risk
  • How much cash or “liquidity” does the client need from investments for the next few years?
  • Does the client have any special tax considerations?
  • Do we need to include or exclude any investments based on personal interests?
  • Very importantly, we draft an Investment Policy Statement “IPS” which guides us and the client as to how we will manage the portfolio. This IPS is a great discipline to not make ad hoc investment decisions based on emotions generated by short-term market or economic swings.

This helps prevent emotional reactions during volatile markets.

  • We serve a limited number of clients and do not have the mission of “scaling up”
  • We keep our operating expenses low so we can charge an investment advisory fee lower than the typical investment firm

  • We do not and will not sell any investment product for a commission.  The reason is that these commissions could have the potential to influence an investment decision.
